Ruined King: A League of Legends Story - Launch Trailer - Nintendo Switch

Nintendo has a launch trailer for Airship Syndicate's new game Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. This is Airships second game release after Battle Chasers: Nightwar. The video description is as follows, "Explore Bilgewater and set sail for the Shadow Isles to uncover the secrets of the deadly Black Mist in Ruined King: A League of Legends Story from Airship Syndicate and Riot Forge." Joe Madureira has seemed to taken a step back on the art side this time and Ludo Lullabi has been one of the main artists drawing the cut scenes; which look amazing.

Featurette Ruined King: A Developer's Story featuring Joe Madureira

Riot Forge has released a short video featurette on the upcoming game Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. It's an interview with the creators and developers that breaks down some of the characters and the unique new combat gameplay decisions. They say it's Battle Chasers: Nightwar but cranked up a notch. Here's a transcript of Joe's speaking parts. I'm Joe Madureira. I'm the CEO and Creative Director at Airship (Syndicate). Ruined King is an RPG with turn-based combat, and you play as a group of champions that are from all parts of the world. They converge in Bilgewater which is this town of traitors, rogues and thieves. Some live there and some are just transient and visiting for who-knows-what purposes. Because of my background in comics, I approach everything as sort of like... what is the comic book version of this character or this scene.

Ruined King: A League of Legend Story Gameplay Reveal Trailer at the Game Awards

During the 2020 Video Game Awards there was a gameplay reveal trailer for the upcoming title 'Ruined King: A League of Legends Story' developed by Airship Syndicate and supported by Riot Forge. It features some animated cut scenes as well as gameplay of the dungeon crawling RPG. The similarities to 'Battle Chasers: Nightwar' are clear, but that's a good thing in my opinion... it's very much a game design style Airship Syndicate thrives at. Looking forward to this coming out in 2021 to console and PC.

Eurogamer Interview with Joe Madureira and Leanne Lombe Featuring Character Art for Ruined King: a League of Legends Story

Over at Eurogamer they spoke to the head of Riot Forge, Leanne Lombe, as well as Airship Syndicate CEO Joe Madureira about some of the details on Ruined King: a League of Legends Story. Some larger canvas images of the League of Legend champion characters Miss Fortune, Illaoi, Braum, Pyke, Ahri and Yasuo were also posted. Below is the interview from Eurogamer: "This one is narratively focused," Madureira said, for one. "So the characters are constantly interacting in and out of battle - the adventure and story elements are just as important as the combat." Although there's no romancing - condolances to thirsty BioWare fans - Madureira did promise it was a "true RPG", with "a lot of exploration and interaction with both the environments and tonnes of NPCs." There are also more League of Legends characters set to make an appearance, Madureira said, although he wouldn't elaborate any further. "We had a world map in Battle Chasers, w...
