Battle Chasers Issue 10 Gotham Central Comics Variant Cover by Mike Del Mundo

A tenth variant cover is available for Joe Madureira's Battle Chasers issue 10 from Gotham Central Comics  featuring art from Mike Del Mundo .  The cover has Gully punching out a monster with her gauntlet in what looks like a homage to a Muhammad Ali boxing pose. Big news, did a BATTLE CHASERS cover for issue #10 with Gully in the famous Muhammad Ali pose. Words can’t express how much I’ve missed this book. Battle Chasers was one of the pinnacle books that I learned and studied from. One of the Holy Grails that never left my drawing table so when Gotham Central Comics hit me up to collab on a retail variant for Issue 10, I was ecstatic, I did not hesitate. Joe Madureira is a beast 🐐 and being able to be a part of the Battle Chasers Legacy is a privilege.

New Battle Chasers Artwork From Creator Joe Madureira Featuring Gully Grown up!

Give it up to Joe Madureira to set the internet a blaze with a new piece of artwork. This time around he's teased fans of his Battle Chasers comic series with a new piece of art featuring one of the protagonists, Gully, all grown up as a mature teen(?). It's a great sketch and the reaction has been positive with fans asking if the art is a tease for new comics or for a sequel to the Battle Chasers: Nightwar game. With Airship Syndicate's resent release of 'Darksiders: Genesis' on PC (console versions are due out in February) and 'Ruined King: A League of Legends Story,' there's still ONE unannounced game that's in development. Fingers crossed that it's a sequel to Battle Chasers: Nightwar. Joe Madureira Says Battle Chasers Comics Are Still Coming

An interesting article over at newsarma.com has new information on where Joe Madureira is at with the future of Battle Chasers comics. Here is the article in full. Battle Chasers writer/artist Joe Madureira says that work on the long-delayed continuation of the series is still in development, but he has decided to enlist others to help him draw upcoming issues. "Realistically, the only way to get the books finished and into your hands any time soon is to recruit some highly talented individuals to help out," Madureira said. "I’ll still be working on the story of course, and drawing as many pages as I can manage. One of the reasons I haven’t let anyone take over the series in the last 20 years is because I always felt that if it were to continue, it had to be me. Or a team I had complete faith in, and I think I’ve found that team. I’ll be releasing more details on that soon" Back in 2015 Madureira ran a Kickstarter campaign to fund development of the since...

Is DC Comics bringing back the Cliffhanger! comic label?

Over at BleedingCool.com they have received some information that DC Comics is registering the trademark 'Cliffhanger!' for comic books, graphic novels and electronic downloadable publications. Cliffhanger! was a creator-owned imprint by Wildstorm that brought together Joe Madureira (Battle Chasers), Humberto Ramos (Crimson), and J Scott Campbell (Danger Girl). Wildstorm was bought by DC Comics years ago so they inherited the Cliffhanger imprint but it has since been phased out after Danger Girl and Crimson completed their runs and Battle Chasers ended on an actual cliffhanger. Now that this rumour of Cliffhanger! being registered is out in the open, what is DC Comics doing with it? Is this the first step in the continuation of Battle Chaser's? Joe Madureira promised to continue the comic series with a 3-issue story arc during the Battle Chasers: Nightwar Kickstarter campaign. Fingers crossed that this is the first sign of the continuation of the series! I'll hav...

Battle Chasers: Nightwar Update

The day is almost here! Battle Chasers: Nightwar is being released on October 3rd on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC with a Nintendo Switch release to follow. I backed the game on Kickstarter back in December of 2015 and have been enjoying playing the beta release on my MacBook Pro. I have to say, being a Joe Madureira fan it has been an amazing experience to dive back into the Battle Chasers universe that is so near and dear to Joe. I'm so happy that he had the opportunity to create this game for his fans. Other big news is that Udon is doing an art book for Battle Chasers: Nightwar and apparently it is almost complete! Here's a sneak peak of a few of the pages. Airship Syndicate also released the first of six videos featuring the playable characters in the game. First up, Knolan! Check it out below. Another video recently released was the opening cinematic by Powerhouse Animation (who did the recent Castlevania Anime on Netflix). Watch below! Here are some miscella...
