Ruined King: A League of Legend Story Gameplay Reveal Trailer at the Game Awards

During the 2020 Video Game Awards there was a gameplay reveal trailer for the upcoming title 'Ruined King: A League of Legends Story' developed by Airship Syndicate and supported by Riot Forge. It features some animated cut scenes as well as gameplay of the dungeon crawling RPG. The similarities to 'Battle Chasers: Nightwar' are clear, but that's a good thing in my opinion... it's very much a game design style Airship Syndicate thrives at. Looking forward to this coming out in 2021 to console and PC.

Eurogamer Interview with Joe Madureira and Leanne Lombe Featuring Character Art for Ruined King: a League of Legends Story

Over at Eurogamer they spoke to the head of Riot Forge, Leanne Lombe, as well as Airship Syndicate CEO Joe Madureira about some of the details on Ruined King: a League of Legends Story. Some larger canvas images of the League of Legend champion characters Miss Fortune, Illaoi, Braum, Pyke, Ahri and Yasuo were also posted. Below is the interview from Eurogamer: "This one is narratively focused," Madureira said, for one. "So the characters are constantly interacting in and out of battle - the adventure and story elements are just as important as the combat." Although there's no romancing - condolances to thirsty BioWare fans - Madureira did promise it was a "true RPG", with "a lot of exploration and interaction with both the environments and tonnes of NPCs." There are also more League of Legends characters set to make an appearance, Madureira said, although he wouldn't elaborate any further. "We had a world map in Battle Chasers, w

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story Announcement Trailer and Character Art Reveal by Joe Madureira

Big day for League of Legends fans and Joe Madureira fans! The wait is finally over for the reveal of Ruined King: A League of Legends Story . Developed by Airship Syndicate and Riot Forge, the Ruined King is a narrative driven single-player turn-based RPG (very much like Battle Chasers: Nightwar and Darksiders: Genesis) where a group of champions work together to benefit the lands of Runeterra. The story is set in two regions of Runeterra, a port town populated by sea monster hunters, dock gangs, and smugglers called Bilgewater; and a cursed land filled of deadly black mist which corrupts all those who come in contact with it known as the Shadow Isles. The champions include: Miss Fortune, Illaoi, Braum, Pyke, Ahri and Yasuo. Drawn by Joe Mad below! The game is coming early 2021 to Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Steam, the Epic Games Store, and soon after to Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S (Owners of the PS4/Xbox One version can upgrade for free to next-gen). Joe Madureira Reveals Shadow Isles Concept Art from Ruined King: A League of Legends Story

The Riot Games 'Summer Game Fest' interview happened earlier today, and a tiny bit of information came out of it. The biggest bit of info was a new piece of concept art showing off the Shadow Isles location that will be featured in the Ruined King. It seems League of Legends fans were pretty upset about this reveal since very little was shown or announced. However, there was some insight on a Battle Chasers: Nightwar sequel, in which Joe revealed that Airship Syndicate WAS working on it before they got approached by Riot Games to work on a League of Legends project. This is pretty heartbreaking for Battle Chasers fans since we'd all love a sequel to advance the story of Gully, Garrison and the gang. This makes total sense now why we haven't heard anything about a sequel to Battle Chasers: Nightwar, as well as the Battle Chasers comics, since Joe is heavily focused on the development of the Ruined King and so anything Battle Chasers related is most likely on the backbur

Airship Syndicate Game Update from Joe Madureira

The 'Summer Game Fest' celebration of video games has a showcase tomorrow at 1:00pm est on Riot Games, the publisher behind the League of Legends series. The showcase will feature Greg Street (VP of Riot Games), Rowan (Creative Director of Riot Forge) and our very own Joe Madureira (CEO of Airship Sydicate). Last December, it was announced that Airship Sydicate would be working on a new League of Legends game called 'Ruined King: A League of Legends Story'. View the trailer below. Since this 'Summer Game Fest' showcase is focused on Riot games, I assume we will get an update on the development of 'Ruined King: A League of Legends Story' from Joe. Looking forward to seeing more on this project!

Joe Madureira Draws Character From His Early Marvel Career; Cerise from Excalibur

I guess Joe Madureira has been feeling nostalgic as of late since his latest post to social media is a sketch of a character from one of his first gigs at Marvel Comics. Joe was hired right out of high school for his comic art talents and illustrated Excalibur issues 57 and 58. Here is the tweet from Joe as well as the sketch and a screenshot of his old art. You can see how much he has refined his artwork; even in his tweet he says "Can't believe they hired me." I was in High School last time I drew this gal...😬. #cerise #marvel #excalibur #comics #comicart #CantBelieveTheyHiredMe pic.twitter.com/ZJ69oOTgZb — Joe Madureira (@JoeMadx) January 26, 2020
