Joe Madureira Interview with IGN about Darksiders Movie

Here's a new interview with Joe Madureira about what's next for Darksiders with Joe's thoughts on a possible movie. Enjoy!

Joe Madureira at Toronto Comic Con

***UPDATE**
Unfortunately Joe Madureira is not attending the Comic Con....

Wizard 221 hit stands on Wednesday featuring a darksiders cover by Joe Madureira. Unfortunately I can't find Joe Mad's cover anywhere... only the Iron Man 2 movie cover. The interview inside is short and sweet, nothing really new to talk about... However the very last page of the magazine has an advertisement for Toronto Comic Con...

As you can see on the page Joe Madureira is advertised to be a guest! Wizard World Toronto Comic Con runs from March 26-28th and you can get tickets here.

Darksiders Updates

I've had the chance to play Darksiders and I'm really enjoying it so far. The graphics are really sharp and the gameplay is a lot of fun. I hope it does well for Vigil Games first release and that they'll be working on a sequel ASAP.

There has been plentiful news on Darksiders today after it's release yesterday... here's the rundown:

First it sounds as though Hollywood is interested in bringing Darksiders to theaters as Joe Madureira told VG247,"We've gotten some interest from Hollywood, we've talked about doing a comic series." and Joe added "It's really a THQ thing, but I know they are definitely talking to people and I would be surprised if some of that stuff didn't happen." The movie interest is a no brainer, it usually comes with every major video game release. I would love to see a comic series if Joe Madureira would be the artist behind it.

Second, Eurogamer had an hour long fan Question and Answer with Joe Madureira where he talked about his career and even about Battle Chasers.
"Question: I know you probably hear this a lot but what on earth happened with Battle Chasers? It was such an awesome comic, that just seemed to fizzle out. Any plans to finish the story of Gully and Co off?

Super Moderating Hero: I would love to some day. I am amazed how many people ask me this. It's somehow managed to live in people's minds all these years. I feel like I HAVE to finish it some day.

Super Moderating Hero: In a videogame perhaps?

Joe Madureira: That would be amazing. But I'm so possessive of it, I would demand it be done by Vigil. And we have too much on our plate these days to take on another project. So we'll see!"

Third, it seems there won't be any Downloadable Content for Darksiders as Joe mentions in his Q&A, "Sorry, we aren't currently planning any DLC content for Darksiders." But over on the Darksiders Official site they have a 'Mysterious Redemption Code' but it won't be unveiled until later in the month. Could it be a weapon download?

I think that is all for now, I'll try and keep you updated on any other exciting news. Enjoy Darksiders!

Darksiders: Wrath of War Releases Today

Time for a breath of fresh air, Vigil Games (Joe Madureira's Video Game Company) has released their first game to market. After 3 years of development Darksiders is officially out on store shelves today.

Being a Joe Madureira fan for so many years and witnessing his up and downs in the video game industry with games such as Dragonkind, Exarch, Dungeon Runners and Tabula Rasa it's nice to see him be successful with the release Darksiders. He's poured his heart into this game and has fulfilled his dream of creating a video game from concept to reality. I'm really excited to get my hands on a copy in the next few hours.

Do yourself as a Joe Madureira fan a favor by going out and buying Darksiders: Wrath of War today.
